This document lays out an operational plan to win new spirits brands for your Amazon UK route to market through cold email outreach, reaching the brand managers, sales directors and founders whose bottles are either missing from Amazon.co.uk or listed there by somebody else — reading time ~ 6 minutes.

01 / YOUR BUSINESS01 — 08
We understand your DNA.
Shelfdrop is the e-commerce distribution engine for drinks brands in the UK, run from 105 Piccadilly and powered by Decant Group, a drinks ecosystem that has traded over £100m across five integrated houses. You are not an agency sitting between a brand and a warehouse: the AWRS approval, the excise ID and the bonded stock are held in your own name, and Decant Bond is your own warehousing. That is what lets a brand with no UK entity sell here at all. On top of that sits the commercial half of the job — Vendor Central and Seller Central as an Amazon Service Partner, Tesco Marketplace, online grocery and quick commerce, thirty-plus channels in total, with listing content, retail media and pricing managed rather than left to chance. A brand signs one contract instead of five, gets onboarded in 24 hours, and is selling inside 28 days.
100+
partner brands already running through the platform
The model is not a pilot. It is already operating at a scale most drinks brands cannot build alone.
65%
of brands reach Amazon page one within 90 days
The single most quotable number you have, because page one is the only page that sells anything.
28 days
from signature to selling, onboarded in 24 hours
Kills the objection that setting up a UK route is a twelve-month project with a lawyer attached.
£50M
group revenue standing behind the platform
A brand is handing over stock. Decant Group’s balance sheet is what makes that an easy decision.
What sets you apart
Three things, and a brand manager will recognise all three. First, you are the licensed party: AWRS, excise ID, your own bonded warehouse, age-verified delivery, labelling and importer-of-record. A brand with no UK company can sell in the UK through you, which no agency can offer. Second, it is non-exclusive, and the brand keeps pricing control and the customer data — the exact opposite of the traditional wholesale chain, where margin and visibility both disappear at the first handover. Third, you run both Amazon models, Vendor and Seller, as a Service Partner. Most brands are stuck because they were pushed into the wrong one, or received a Vendor invitation they had no way to service. One contract replaces the agency, the bonded warehouse, the compliance consultant, the 3PL and the media buyer.
What we will push on your behalf
Not “we are an Amazon partner”. We open on the brand’s own shelf, and which of two angles we use is decided by what we find there. If the brand is already on Amazon.co.uk through a reseller, the angle is loss: people are searching for you right now and finding a third party who set the price, kept the customer and answers for your brand. If the brand is not there at all, the angle is speed: a controlled UK listing in 28 days, no UK entity required, non-exclusive, and you keep the data. Both land on the same four blockers that keep a spirits brand off Amazon UK — no licence, no bonded stock, nobody who can run Vendor and Seller, and no appetite to hand margin to a distributor. The ask stays small: a shelf check first, not a distribution agreement.
02 / YOUR MARKET02 — 08
A market identified and qualified.
We size this from named public registers rather than from a market report. In the UK, Companies House lists 2,136 active companies under SIC 11010, distilling, rectifying and blending of spirits, and a screened slice of the 7,192 companies under SIC 46342 adds roughly 1,000 non-distilling brand owners — the ones who own a spirits brand and contract out the liquid, which is exactly the profile with no route and no infrastructure. Outside the UK we count producers where cold outreach is lawful and business runs in English: the American Craft Spirits Association recorded 2,282 active US craft distillers in August 2025, the Australian Distillers Association represents around 600, Canada around 430, New Zealand around 107, Ireland around 75, and the Nordic, Dutch and Portuguese trade bodies plus export-facing Indian and Caribbean producers add roughly 400 more. That comes to about 7,000 spirits brands, every one of which has to answer the same question: who sells us on Amazon UK.
~7,000
spirits brands identified
UK producers and brand owners on the Companies House register (~3,100), plus producers in the US, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Nordics, the Netherlands, Portugal, India and the English-speaking Caribbean (~3,900)

How we build this database
Everything starts from registers that can be downloaded and checked. Companies House gives us SIC 11010 and SIC 46342 in full, with company status, size and incorporation date. The ACSA Craft Spirits Data Project, the Australian Distillers Association, Distil-Nation, the Irish Whiskey Association and the Nordic trade bodies cover the export markets. On top of that we run two screens that a market list would never give you: is this company a brand owner or a pure wholesaler, and what does Amazon.co.uk actually return for the brand name today. Then LinkedIn, the brand’s own site and the trade press produce the named person: Brand Manager, Sales Director, Commercial Director, Export Manager, Founder. Every contact is finally verified and enriched by AI: role check, business email validation, and a read on whether the brand is actively spending. Impossible by hand across seven thousand brands — this is what makes qualification at that scale possible.
Why 50% are contactable
Spirits brands are small teams, which cuts both ways. The named decision-maker is usually easy to identify, because it is the founder or the one commercial hire. But a large share of craft producers publish only a hello@ or an info@ address, and plenty of the best brands run their whole public presence through Instagram rather than LinkedIn. On the ten-brand sample in Section 04 we found a named decision-maker for all ten and a verifiable personal LinkedIn profile for seven — and where there is no personal profile, we drop the link rather than substitute a company page. The 50% ratio is deliberately conservative for that reason, so the projections you are reading stay realistic rather than optimistic.
Every country in this base is one where B2B cold outreach to a business address is lawful, with sender identification, a documented legitimate-interest assessment and one-click opt-out. That is why Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Greece are excluded: they require prior consent even for B2B. France and Mexico are excluded for a different reason — both are legal, but English underperforms badly there, so cognac, armagnac, calvados, tequila and mezcal belong in a separate French and Spanish-language campaign that we can size whenever you want it. The 11 figure is market headroom rather than a delivery promise; we can tighten it to one country or one category, or widen it, once Phase 1 has run.
03 / AI PERSONALISATION03 — 08
Emails that look written by hand.
The difference between an email that gets deleted and an email that gets a reply is rarely the offer, it is the first sentence. A brand manager can tell within two seconds whether the sender knows the difference between Vendor Central and Seller Central, or what a Buy Box actually is. So the AI here is not pretending to be a human and it is not writing the pitch: it reads Amazon.co.uk, the competition result databases, the trade press and the funding registers at a scale a person could not, and pulls out one verifiable fact per prospect. That fact becomes the opening line, in the vocabulary the recipient actually uses. No flattery, no horoscope copy, no “I came across your website” — just a price, a medal, a date or a seller name that could only belong to them.
The principle: when a brand owner reads the email, they should think “this person is in the drinks trade”, not “this is a bot”. Every opening sentence cites a precise, verifiable fact in their own words — RRP, listing, reseller, ASIN, page one, duty, bonded, route to market.
Here are the 3 types of signals we would use to personalise every email sent on your behalf, stacked from most-findable to most-valuable.
01
The Amazon.co.uk shelf, as it stands today
What we look forWhat a search for the brand name actually returns: nothing at all, a listing owned by a third-party reseller, or a brand-controlled one. Where a listing exists we take the seller name and the asking price and set it against the brand’s own RRP. This is the one thing nobody else in their inbox has bothered to check.

Clarity Navy Gin took Gin of the Year at the London Spirits Competition 2026 and 99 points at the IWSC. Clarity has no UK route to market and says it is in discussions with overseas importers. Nothing listed under the brand on Amazon.co.uk.
AI personalisation →
“You won Gin of the Year in London back in May and there is still no way to actually buy Clarity over here.”
02
A dated growth event
What we look forOne concrete, dated commercial move in the last twelve months: a funding round closing, a new site, a senior commercial hire, an entry into a new market, a first release in a new category. The event that proves the brand has both budget and a growth mandate right now rather than next year.

03
A named competition result
What we look forA specific medal, trophy or score from a named competition inside the last twelve months, tied to the exact expression it was awarded to. It is the result the brand is proudest of and is actively pushing, and it is also the moment search volume for the brand name spikes. An award with no controlled listing behind it is a measurable leak.

The personalised sentences above slot into a short, natural-sounding sequence. Here is what the opening email could look like, sent to Max Vaughan, co-founder of White Peak Distillery, signed by you.
FromGeorge Tapsell · ShelfdropTomax@whitepeakdistillery.co.ukSubjectWire Works on Amazon.co.uk
Hi Max,
First English whisky to take Whisky of the Year at the Whisky Exchange awards. Genuine question: where did all that search traffic end up?
I ask because we sell drinks brands on Amazon UK, vendor and seller side, and after a result like that the pattern is nearly always the same. People go and search the name, and what they find is either nothing, or a third-party reseller who sets their own price and keeps the customer.
We hold the AWRS and the bonded stock ourselves, so a brand-controlled listing can be live in 28 days without you adding a single person. Non-exclusive, and you keep pricing control and the customer data.
I had a look at what Wire Works currently looks like on Amazon.co.uk. Happy to send over what I found. Mostly I am curious whether it matches what you thought was there.
The sentence highlighted in terracotta is the line generated specifically for this prospect by our AI. The rest of the email is the same for everyone — written upfront with you.
04 / PROSPECT SAMPLE04 — 08
10 spirits brands identified by our AI.
Before launching at full scale we always start with a sample of 10 real brands, picked across the segments that matter to you — English whisky and gin, craft rum, Scotch independent bottling, Irish pot still, American bourbon, and producers in New Zealand and Australia with no UK route at all. For each one we name the decision-maker, surface a recent and dated signal, and explain why that brand is worth approaching now. The same method is then applied to your full base of around 3,500 contactable prospects.
For each prospect, our AI identifies a concrete signal: a funding round, an award, a new range, a senior hire, a market entry. That signal justifies why to reach out now and gives the email its opening line. Every signal below is dated and traceable to a public source from the last twelve months.
Two things are worth flagging before you read them. Every one of these ten is founder-led or founder-present, which means the person named is the person who decides, not someone who has to take it upstairs. And four of the ten have just raised money or just won a major competition — the two moments when a brand is both liquid and looking for somewhere to put the attention. We found a named decision-maker for all ten and a verifiable personal LinkedIn profile for seven; where there is none, we drop the link rather than substitute a company page, which is also why the contactable ratio in Section 02 is 50% and not higher.
01
White Peak Distillery
Max Vaughan·Co-founder
English single malt and gin distillery in a Victorian wire works in the Derwent Valley, Ambergate, Derbyshire.
SIGNAL DETECTED · COMPETITION RESULT
2026. Wire Works Bourbon Cask was named Whisky of the Year at The Whisky Exchange Awards 2026, the first English whisky ever to take the title. The distillery also released a single cask lightly peated malt finished in oloroso sherry quarter cask, limited to 161 bottles.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
Whisky of the Year from the UK’s biggest specialist retailer is the single largest demand spike an English whisky can get, and the search traffic that follows it lands on Amazon.co.uk whether or not anyone is there to receive it. Max ran RBS Global Banking & Markets and was a CFO before this, so the margin and channel-control conversation is one he will actually engage with rather than delegate.
02
Whitby Distillery
Luke Pentith·Co-founder & Managing Director
North Yorkshire gin and rum producer, £1.63m revenue to February 2026, growing at 36% a year since 2017.
SIGNAL DETECTED · FUNDING ROUND CLOSED
2026. A Seedrs round closed at £380,000 against a £200,000 target, funding the new Abbey Lands distillery beside Whitby Abbey for an April 2027 opening, plus a tasting bar, retail space and tours — and a first small-batch organic English whisky made in partnership with Whitby Brewery.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
Fresh capital, a hard 2027 deadline and a first whisky to sell into a market that does not know them yet. They need online volume and nobody inside a distillery of that size is going to learn Vendor Central. The 28-day go-live is the exact shape of answer a founder with a construction timetable wants to hear.
03
Vapoura Rum
Olly Barkley·Co-founder
Luxury English rum founded in 2023 by four former professional rugby players. Chapter One and Chapter Two.
SIGNAL DETECTED · SEED RAISE FOR EXPORT
May 2026. Vapoura is raising £1.75m in private seed investment, with the stated use of funds covering team growth, brand marketing, deeper on-trade penetration and, in their own words, the brand’s first steps into export markets. Profiled in Forbes in August 2026.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
They have said out loud that export is the next move and they are funding it. Amazon UK is the cheapest possible rehearsal for that ambition: a controlled listing, real sales data and no headcount. And a brand built on four founders’ names is precisely the kind that cannot afford a reseller setting its shelf price.
04
Two Drifters Distillery
Russ Wakeham·Co-founder & CMO
Husband-and-wife rum distillery near Exeter Airport, the world’s first carbon-negative rum.
SIGNAL DETECTED · GROWTH FINANCE
Secured a £250,000 loan from the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund to scale production against rising on-trade and retail demand, and to support continued overseas expansion through increased marketing. Russ holds a PhD in organic chemistry and worked in carbon capture before founding the distillery.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
Committed capital pointed at volume and overseas sales. Their whole proposition is a sustainability story, and a story is exactly what dies on a bare Amazon listing with no A+ content. They already sell hard direct to consumer, so the conversation about keeping pricing control and customer data is one they are already having internally.
05
Woven Whisky
Peter Allison·Co-founder & Whisky Maker
Independent blender in Leith, Edinburgh, working across regions and origins rather than a single distillery.
SIGNAL DETECTED · NEW SITE AND RELEASE
May 2026. Woven announced Blending Rooms at Brown’s of Leith, a two-floor blending operation, tasting space and lounge bar due for completion in 2027. In August 2026 they released Woven x Civerinos Hot Honey, a grain whisky with blossom honey, guajillo and jalapeño, at £40.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
Small-batch releases sell out to an audience that searches by name, which is the profile most exposed to grey-market listing. Independent bottlers are among the most commonly resold categories on Amazon.co.uk, so the shelf-check opener lands harder here than almost anywhere else in the sample.
06
Boatyard Distillery
Joe McGirr·Founder
First legal distillery in Fermanagh in 130 years, organic and farm-to-bottle, on the banks of Lough Erne.
SIGNAL DETECTED · SENIOR COMMERCIAL HIRE
July 2026. Boatyard appointed Tim Herlihy, founder of Lost Irish and formerly of William Grant & Sons and Cooley, into a newly created role to drive US growth: expanding distribution, strengthening on-premise partnerships and raising visibility with the trade.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
They are visibly spending on commercial headcount to open a market, which tells you the budget conversation is already live. The obvious follow-up question is who is doing the same job for the UK e-commerce shelf, and the answer is nobody. Joe spent a decade at Glenmorangie and was COO of The London Distillery Company, so route-to-market economics is his native language.
07
Curraghmore Whiskey
Richard Tyrone·Managing Director
Single-estate Irish pot still whiskey from barley and oats grown on the Curraghmore estate, Portlaw, Co. Waterford.
SIGNAL DETECTED · NEW RANGE LAUNCH
1 September 2026. Curraghmore released its 2026 Triple Cask Single Pot Still alongside the first expression of the new Annamh Collection, a Virgin French Oak single cask bottled at both 46% and cask strength, with an ex-Bourbon single cask to follow later in 2026 and an oloroso sherry cask in 2027.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
A brand-new premium range with an estate provenance story that needs telling somewhere other than a shelf talker, and Irish whiskey is one of the strongest search categories in UK online spirits. A single-estate whiskey sold through an uncontrolled reseller loses the exact thing it charges a premium for.
08
Pursuit Spirits
Kenny Coleman·Co-founder & COO
Louisville independent blender founded by the creators of Bourbon Pursuit, the biggest whiskey podcast in the world.
SIGNAL DETECTED · UK MARKET ENTRY
Pursuit United bourbons and ryes went live in the UK and EU through distributor N10 Bourbons. In 2026 the brand joined the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and opened a 7,600 sq ft home across two floors on Whiskey Row.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
The clearest case in the sample of demand without a shelf. A large UK podcast audience already knows the brand and searches for the bottles, and a distributor listing is not the same thing as a brand-controlled Amazon presence. Kenny is a former tech executive, so the argument about owning the listing and the customer data needs no translation.
09
Clarity Distilling Company
George White·Co-founder
Tauranga distillery founded in 2023, making gin from ethanol recovered from grass-fed New Zealand dairy whey.
SIGNAL DETECTED · LONDON COMPETITION WIN
2026. Clarity Navy Gin scored 99 points and a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC in London, the highest-scoring gin in the competition, and took Gin of the Year at the London Spirits Competition 2026. The company says the result triggered a surge of enquiries from UK, US, Australian and Indian distributors.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
They won in London, they are publicly fielding inbound UK interest, and they still have no UK route. Shelfdrop is a faster answer than a distributor negotiation and it leaves them holding the pricing and the data. Of all ten, this is the brand where the gap between reputation and availability is widest.
10
Beachtree Distilling Co
Kirra Daley·Co-founder
Australia’s only First Nations-owned-and-operated distillery, organic and native-botanical, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast.
SIGNAL DETECTED · SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
2026. Beachtree was Highly Commended as Sustainable Distillery at the World Drinks Awards, with master distiller Steve Grace Highly Commended as Master Distiller. The distillery was named World’s Best Craft Producer in both 2024 and 2025.
WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR SHELFDROP
One of the most-awarded craft distilleries in Australia with, as far as a UK shopper is concerned, no existence at all. The awards have already done the credibility work; what is missing is purely operational — licence, bonded stock, listing, fulfilment — which is exactly the half of the job Shelfdrop owns.

Forgive the direct email but we partner with creators who are really into Japanese gins, and who'd love to feature your Etsu Pacific Ocean Water bottle.
These creators are followed by thousands of gin enthusiasts — the kind who don't just drink it, they talk about it. The content they can produce will instantly grow your community on @etsugin and generate a lot of sales (ROI is positive in a few days).

Bonjour Jeremy,

Phase 6
Reporting Ongoing
Good to know: phases 2, 3 and 4 run in parallel with the technical setup (phase 1). Concretely, during the 1-month technical warm-up we build your database and write your sequence — so the first emails go out from week 5.
Phase 1 — Technical setup
Creation of dedicated sending domains, SPF/DKIM/DMARC configuration, opening and setting up the email addresses, launch of the warm-up (1 month). No action required on your side.
Phase 2 — Workshop (1h)
A structured working session to define together the structure of the database, the tone of voice for the emails, and to gather your case studies and key differentiators. This phase runs in parallel with phase 1 (Technical setup).
Phase 3 — Sequence copywriting
First draft, feedback rounds and optimisations with you, then layering in the AI personalisation (the signals shown above). We validate the overall email content with you before moving on to the database.
Phase 4 — Database build
We assemble a sample of prospects (like the 10 above) for you to validate. Once approved, we build the full database with quality control: field verification, contact qualification.
Phase 5 — Campaign launch
Sending starts as soon as the warm-up is complete. First results within the first week. Real-time tracking: open rate, reply rate, opportunities generated.
Phase 6 — Reporting & optimisation
Real-time reporting through our platform. Continuous adjustments and A/B testing on subject lines, opening sentences and sequences. Regular monthly or quarterly check-ins depending on results.

Our commitment
At least 38 qualified opportunities over 12 months. If missed → billing frozen until catch-up.
How the guarantee works in 3 clauses.
D0 · Launch
CLAUSE.01
Our commitment
We commit to generating at least — opportunities per month, i.e. — opportunities over — months. This target matches the low scenario of our projections (10% of our clients' campaigns).
M+1 · Check
CLAUSE.02
If we fall short of the target
As soon as a month closes below — opportunities, your billing is immediately frozen. Concretely: you stop paying from that month onwards, until we have fully caught up the cumulative shortfall. You never pay for a month where we don't deliver on our commitment.
M+3 · Limit
CLAUSE.03
If the shortfall persists over 3 consecutive months
Termination is possible at no cost. We keep working at our own expense during those 3 months of shortfall; beyond that, we acknowledge the failure and you are no longer billable for what follows.
Dynamic values
The figures shown in these clauses are not fixed: they are recalculated automatically based on the parameters set in your simulation above. The final contractual commitment will depend on the parameters validated together at the start of the engagement.
Contractual definition of an opportunity: a prospect responding positively to one of our prospecting emails — either an information request or a meeting request.
In addition to fees, 3 technical costs to plan for.
The first is a one-off investment that you own for life — your prospects remain yours, even if you stop working with us. The other two are monthly technical subscriptions, essential for any cold email campaign.

A FINAL WORD
This document is not a sales pitch. It is a projection built on the real numbers from our campaigns — the scenarios presented are not promises, they are averages observed across our clients.
Our method has been operational for several years. It works as soon as the fundamentals are in place: a clearly identified market, a differentiating positioning, a measured closing rate. Shelfdrop has all three.
Our conviction is that we can install for you a steady stream of qualified spirits brand opportunities over the next 12 months — with indicators we steer together, month after month.
Whenever you want to talk about it concretely, we are here.
